莎拉斯（Saras Manickam）
莎拉斯（Saras Manickam）的短篇小說集《我的母親帕圖》（My Mother Pattu）由企鵝藍燈書屋東南亞分部（Penguin SEA）出版，獲馬來西亞筆會（PEN Malaysia）評選為近年最具代表性的馬來西亞女性作家作品之一。書中同名短篇曾榮獲 2019 年大英國協短篇小說獎亞洲區首獎，〈查蘭〉（Charan）一文亦贏得杜特卓越文學紀念獎（DK Dutt Prize）。作品筆觸真摯、清醒、詼諧，刻畫人物在面對過去與當下的真相時，所展現的堅韌與勇氣。莎拉斯從事寫作的同時身兼多職，多元的工作和生活經歷使她能夠深入角色處境，形塑故事真實的質地。
Saras Manickam's collection, My Mother Pattu, published by Penguin SEA, has been recognised by PEN Malaysia as one of the most significant books by women writers in Malaysia. The titular story won the regional prize for Asia in the 2019 Commonwealth Short Story Contest. Another, Charan, won the DK Dutt prize. The stories in her collection are authentic, unsentimental, yet wryly humorous, with each story celebrating the resilience of the human spirit as it confronts the truths of the past and present without turning away. Saras Manickam worked at several jobs while writing her stories. Her various work experiences enabled insights into characters, and life experiences, shaping the authenticity which mark her stories.
莎拉斯於駐村期間，將帶來 3 場專為新手創作者設計的創意寫作課程。課程將閱讀作家代表作──小說集《我的母親帕圖》，透過提問，以意識流文學（Stream of consciousness）以及自由流動書寫（Free-flow writing）等形式，帶領參與者挖掘內心深處的「真實之聲」。
